Cloud Nothings’ “Now Hear In” Debuts

n conjunction with the launch of their new North American tour, Cloud Nothings are back today to share the video for “Now Hear In,” taken from this year’s Here And Nowhere Else LP. The clip, directed by Jordan Blackmon (of Toro Y Moi and Fork & Spoon Records fame) is a compilation of footage spliced together from the vaults of Los Angeles’ acclaimed Cinefile Video that features his Toro Y Moi band member Patrick Jeffords as the video’s protagonist.

Native America’s “Naturally Lazy” Debuts On Fader

Native America unveiled the second single from their upcoming studio debut, Grown Up Wrong, premiering the breezy and care free anthem “Naturally Lazy” on The FADER. The single finds Native America in full on dream pop mode, digging deep within their myriad of influences and taking only the finest elements from their world of New Orleans soul, fuzzy power pop, and gorgeous psychedelia. The FADER called it “a reminder that sometimes being a creatively restless night owl is a choice, not a curse,” describing the sound as “a saturnine melody and nonchalantly sung lyrics about bumming around”. In the case of “Naturally Lazy” though, bumming around has never sounded better.

Allen & Dennis Callaci And Aaron Alcala Sing And Play The Smiths

Recorded over 3 evenings this summer, this 2014 Shrimper cassette store day release features 9 Smiths songs reinterpreted by Allen & Dennis Callaci (Refrigerator) with Aaron Alcala (previous recordings w/ Refrigerator & Adam Lipman) on guitar/piano. All songs were recorded live with the brothers harmonizing onto one mic offering dramatic reinterpretations of some classics & some slightly obscure songs in the Smiths canon.

Khun Narin’s Electric Phin Band’s “Sut Sanaen 2” Arrives

Innovative Leisure is proud to share, “Sut Sanaen 2,” the first stream off of Khun Narin Electric Phin Band’s self-titled album. Khun Narin Electric Phin Band is a recording of a group of musicians from Northern Thailand which was executed by Josh Marcy, a US music supervisor who discovered their music via a Youtube clip. Josh dropped everything to journey to Thailand in hopes of making contact with these mysterious players. He came back with more than anyone could have hoped for, an entire album of psychedelia rooted both in the traditional music of the region as well as in Western music brought over by soldiers and tourists during the 60’s and 70’s. Recorded in open air through homemade sound-systems, the album was released via Innovative Leisure on August 26th and is currently available for purchase here.
