Steel Trees Debuts With Loggerhead

INTRODUCING: STEEL TREES

“Sheffield-based purveyors of punk-edged mayhem” – Classic Rock Magazine
“A big, blistering, stoner-beatnik b*stard” – God Is In The TV Zine
“Grizzled, full of scorching guitars, raw vocals and chugging bass, whats not to love?” – Shout4Music

Remember hover boards, DeLoreans, self-drying jackets, Moonwalker, Quantum Leap, Troma, Toxic Waste and power laces? Need to get back to 1985 but lacking in Plutonium? You’re going to like South Yorkshire ex-pit village trio Steel Trees.

Describing their main interest in life as “rocking the f*ck out in the Eternal Bog of Stench” and obsessed with all things 80’s and 90’s, the band are today giving away their new single ‘Loggerhead’ for free download via Dirty Fuzz Records.

With all the crunch and angular rock of fellow Yorshire-men Hawk Eyes, the single throws in a seasonal mix of horror from Danzig-era Misfits and the wild-eyed exuberance of Baby Godzilla’s frenzied performances.

The band’s proximity to the Steel City of Sheffield and their grounding in Yorkshire’s thriving rock scene has clearly had an influence on their latest material; their chunky, driving riffs have been picking up very early introducing support from Classic Rock Magazine, BBC Introducing and Tom Robinson on BBC6 Music, whilst their underground debut LP ‘Attack Of The Stoner Zombie Killer Kids’ led to a slot on the BBC Introducing stage at Scotland’s T In The Park Festival.

The boys have also been busy on the road mopping up local supports slot with an impressive list of names including Dinosaur Jr, Turbowolf, Dinosaur Pile Up, Jim Jones Revue, Amazing Snakeheads, Holy Mountain, Baby Godzilla, Qemists and more.

Want it heavy this Halloween? ‘Loggerhead’ is the soundtrack you’ve been waiting for.
