Warrington folk-punks Roughneck Riot hit the road on a UK & EU headline tour this week in support of their new album ‘Out Of Anger’ released on 13th October via legendary Manchester punk zine-turned-record-label, TNS Records.

‘Parasites’ is a no nonsense folk punk romp from start to finish, a biting political satire that addresses xenophobia and social anxiety in the UK, front man Matty Humphries rails against poverty as he laments “One less drain on our poor government, more cash to bail out sh*t businessmen, trying their best to clear a nation’s debt, crimes against humanity slip right through the net.”

The album itself, recorded at Jaraf House studios in Wigan, is testament to their relentless work ethic and carries more than a fistful of influence from The Levellers, Against Me!, Bad Religion and Dick Gaughan. Drawing influence from a host of folk, punk and hardcore bands, they’re intent on doing their bit to highlight the socio-political issues of the 21st Century to a brand new generation of punks.

“We’re reinventing and rewriting folk music to make sense to our lives today” comment the band on their attitude “We write music for people; regardless of race, nationality, age, gender or sexuality. The past 2 years have been quite ridiculous in the UK. We’ve been mostly writing when something has made us angry.”

Since their early inception in 2005, Roughneck Riot have evolved into one of the most unique folk punk bands on the UK circuit, praised for their energetic live shows, constant touring and hard graft in the punk scene.

‘Out of Anger’ is out October 13th (UK) and November 17th (Mainland Europe) on TNS Records.
