The new video from Los Angeles-based indie/gypsy/rock/bigband collective Noah and the MegaFauna, “Dark Matters” premiers on KCRW.ORG.
The song appears on the band’s sophomore album, The Pale Blue Dot, slated for release on November 4 on Artbelly Records.
The “Dark Matters” video was directed by Los Angeles based director and artist, Sandra Powers and stars the beautiful vintage puppets of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater. The old world charm of the puppets, and spooky sets are just in time for Halloween. The theater has been an Echo Park landmark since the sixties and only last week closed it’s doors for good. The band is sad to see such a wondrous place lost, but really honored to share the gorgeous theater and puppetry with this video.
Frontman Noah Lit explains, “I suppose it’s the same old way from here to eternity, communities and artists make an area so nice, that little baby million dollar condominiums sprout out of them. Spending two days at the theater was one of the highlights of my career. The puppets, the puppeteers, and Mr Baker were all so kind and brilliant. We wish them and Mr Baker’s family all the best.” The band is sad to hear that Mr Baker now 90 years old, is in Hospice and would like to help share the link to his GoFundMe site that is raising money for his medical bills. The link can be found here.
Meanwhile, the first single from The Pale Blue Dot, “Fanfare” was featured by KCRW Dj Anne Litt on the syndicated National Public Radio program, WBUR’s Here and Now with host Jeremy Hobson. Check it out HERE.
The band is preparing for the KCRW Masquerade Ball this Saturday, October 25, and then playing the for the largest halloween party in the world, The West Hollywood Halloween Parade. They then head to New York City for a WNYC Soundcheck taping and shows, then back to Los Angeles for the record release at The Satellite.
