Mirah’s “24th St.” (JD Samson Remix)

Revealed w/ VICE’s Noisey

Takes The West Coast By Storm On North American Tour

Critically Acclaimed Album Changing Light Out Now

“Her downy voice is equally appealing whether set in growly rock music or glitteringly ornate folk, the poles that her new album Changing Light often switches between.” – Pitchfork

“ …the songs encompass pristinely acoustic playing, scrappy indie-rock, the blunt beat of dance music, some vocoder-ized vocals and the delicacy of chamber-pop.” – The New York Times, Jon Pareles

“ …a master of mixing lo-fi guitars with spare electronics.” – NPR

Mirah’s seductively intoxicating voice takes listeners on a journey on her recently released fifth solo album, Changing Light. JD Samson (Le Tigre, MEN) put a spacey and extremely danceable twist on the break-up song & album track “24th St.”. “24th St.” (JD Samson Remix) premiered with VICE’s Noisey.

On Changing Light Mirah tells a tale of betrayal, confusion and transcendence, joined by a slew of friends and collaborators including Greg Saunier (Deerhoof), Mary Timony, Emily Wells, and Heather McEntire (Mount Moriah), Jherek Bischoff and her sister Emily Zeitlyn (Divers). With powerful lyrics intricately intertwined in cinematic orchestral arrangements, a variety of influences from folk to punk to R&B, and almost 20 years of songwriting under her belt, Mirah has set herself apart in the realm of exceptional female indie-pop artists. She explains, “Some big losses inspired many of the songs, but ultimately, it’s a story of transfiguring anger into something beautiful, about how to find home again.” Changing Light is the debut release on her new imprint Absolute Magnitude Recordings.

Excited to have friends, collaborators and heroes as support in different cities, Mirah will embark on a full North American tour this fall in support of her new, critically acclaimed record.
