Matisyahu’s Festival Of Light Tours This December

MATISYAHU ANNOUNCES FESTIVAL OF LIGHT 2014 TOUR, DECEMBER 15 – 29

Grammy nominated artist Matisyahu returns in full force on December 15th for his annual Festival of Light tour. An annual Hannukah event now in its eighth year, Matisyahu’s Festival of Light is a unique collection of tour dates celebrating the Jewish holiday in the winter months. The tour kicks off in Montreal and then navigates the Northeast with a performance each night of Hanukkah featuring his band Dub Trio and guitar player Aaron Dugan. The fun continues after Hanukkah with a 4-night run of intimate shows with longtime guitar player Aaron Dugan.

Matisyahu has been extensively touring North America in support of his latest and acclaimed album Akeda, a record that The Huffington Post calls Matisyahu’s “most self-reflective and purely conceived album.” Written on tour, and in his LA home, Akeda was recorded in Brooklyn’s Studio G with his touring band, Dub Trio, and was produced by bassist Stu Brooks. Matisyahu also worked on a number of tracks with long time friends and collaborators Aaron Dugan, Rob Marcher and Mark Guiliana.

The result of this collaboration is a wide-ranging, radically experimental album that adds a new layer of sophistication to Matisyahu’s already impressive body of work. Matisyahu spoke to Billboard last spring about Akeda, saying “I think this period of my life has really been about letting go of everything, all the things I had set up form my image to certain relationships to making the kind of music that’s expected of you.”
