Jukebox The Ghost’s “The Great Unknown” Haunts Radio Charts

Jukebox the Ghost Announce November Headlining Tour Following Release of Forthcoming Self-Titled Studio Album, Due Out October 21st via Yep Roc Records

“The Great Unknown” Continues Its Ascent Up the Radio Charts

Jukebox the Ghost are pleased to announce that they will be hitting the road this November in support of their forthcoming full-length studio album Jukebox the Ghost, which is set to be released on October 21st via the band’s longtime label, Yep Roc Records. The run will kick off with a show on November 1st at Union Transfer in Philadelphia – a city where the band lived and recorded for many years and counts among its home bases. They’ll continue down the east coast and wrap up on November 15th in Charlottesville, VA. Fans in New York and LA will also get a taste of the new album and can expect select release shows to be announced soon. The east coast run is just a teaser for a larger tour set for early 2015.

Jukebox the Ghost – Ben Thornewill (vox, piano), Jesse Kristin (drums), and Tommy Siegel (vox, guitar) – has already started unveiling songs from the self-titled record out to fans. Single “The Great Unknown” continues to make a splash on Triple A charts and marks the first time the band has broken into the Top 40 – an accomplishment noted by Billboard, who included the band and single in their roundup of “Tomorrow’s Hits.” “Sound of a Broken Heart,” a tune with somber lyrics and an uncannily upbeat pop feel premiered alongside the announcement of the album in August with Nylon. Spin quickly picked up the song as one of its best singles of the week, noting the track’s “…soaring vocals, flittering synths, and a driving piano beat.”

The album is the band’s fourth full-length effort and was recorded in Los Angeles over a two month span earlier this year with producers Andrew Dawson (Kanye West, fun.) and Dan Romer (Ingrid Michaelson, Jenny Owens Young). An album written over ten months, Jukebox the Ghost featured the band’s trademark quirky lyricism paired with a new, more bold and full take on instrumentation, and the band is excited to get on the road this fall to test it out live.
