Jamestown Revival Signs With Republic
JAMESTOWN REVIVAL INKS DEAL WITH REPUBLIC RECORDS
UTAH RE-RELEASED TO ALL DIGITAL RETAILERS TODAY
HEADLINE TOUR KICKS OFF SEPTEMBER 27
Austin duo JAMESTOWN REVIVAL has inked a deal with REPUBLIC RECORDS. The enigmatic rock ‘n’ roll pair—Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance— have re-released their critically applauded debut UTAH on iTunes and all digital outlets today, available:http://smarturl.it/JamestownUtah This digital release boasts new arrangements and mixes of the single “California (Cast Iron Soul)”, “Home”, and “Golden Age” produced by none other than legendary producer Brendan O’Brien [Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam].
“California (Cast Iron Soul)” paves the road to UTAH. This unforgettable track merges rustic energy, crisp production, impressive instrumentation, and an invigorating chorus, remaining instantly hypnotic. A brand new music video for the single premiered yesterday on PureVolume.com and the single will impact both AAA and Alternative Radio formats soon.
On the re-release of UTAH and joining with Republic Records the band notes: “While playing these songs on the road for the past six months, they really took on new life. We love UTAH in its original form but there are some things we wished we would have done a bit differently. Teaming up with Republic Records gave us this opportunity. Neither we nor Republic wanted to sacrifice or dismantle what we loved about UTAH initially, and instead we decided to add to the album and keep the original spirit intact. We’re sincerely excited about the future, and we can’t wait to share these new recordings with everyone.”
Independently released in February by lifelong friends Jonathan and Zach, UTAH has yielded over 38,000 combined album and track sales and has generated unanimous critical praise. In total the band has sold over 61,000 tracks throughout their lifespan as a group. They went on to perform on both Conan and The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson as well as receiving a feature on Last Call With Carson Daly. KCRW proclaimed, “Their song ‘California (Cast Iron Soul)’ just reaches out and grabs you in the way that the best music does”, while Best New Bands wrote, “Their connection is so strong between the band and its audience that crowds have been singing along to songs that haven’t even been released yet”. Acoustic Guitar named them among the “Best of 2013,” Stereotypist placed them among SXSW 2014’s “Twenty Artists to Know,” Jason Bentley dubbed them the “5 Los Angeles Musicians to Watch in 2014”, and SiriusXM’s “The Loft” voted them “Best New Music Discovery of 2013.”
In addition, listeners will be able to experience JAMESTOWN REVIVAL during a 28-date North American headline tour this fall/winter. The duo has been widely praised for their live show. The Boston Globe recently noted that “while they have autobiography and remarkably accomplished material on their side, it is the paired singing of these 20-somethings — by turns raucous and soaring, or spine-tingling and quietly mesmerizing — that gives credence to all of the buzz.” The jaunt, which commences on September 27 in Santa Monica, CA at the Way Over Yonder Festival and includes a stop at Austin City Limits Festival on October 5, is not to be missed.
Stay tuned for more from JAMESTOWN REVIVAL soon!
