PIANIST GEORGE WINSTON ANNOUNCES FALL/WINTER TOUR
NEW RECORDING UNDERWAY FOR 2015 RELEASE
Platinum selling artist GEORGE WINSTON is one of the most recognized solo pianists in the world. Winston will launch his late fall/winter tour on November 2nd in Casper, Wyoming. His November and December performances will feature his “Winter Show,” which will include melodic fall and winter type songs, some of Vince Guaraldi’s Peanuts pieces, pieces inspired by the New Orleans piano & the stride piano traditions, and songs from his upcoming album, Spring Carousel – A Cancer Research Benefit, scheduled for release in 2015.
Since 1986, Winston has been raising money for food banks and service organizations and will continue to do so by working with a local food bank in every tour market to hold a canned food drive at the show and by donating 100% of his merchandise sales to the organization.
Since 1972, Winston has released 13 solo piano albums, including his beloved seasonal releases December, Autumn, Winter Into Spring, and Summer, as well as Forest, Plains, Linus and Lucy-The Music of Vince Guaraldi, Montana-A Love Story, Love Will Come-The Music of Vince Guaraldi Vol 2 and Night Divides The Day-The Music of The Doors.
Winston’s last two releases — 2012’s Gulf Coast Blues & Impressions 2–A Louisiana Wetlands Benefit and 2006’s Gulf Coast Blues & Impressions –A Hurricane Relief Benefit—both continue to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina and The Voice of the Wetlands respectively.
In December of 2013, Winston released the digital single “Silent Night—A Benefit for Feeding America,” which is available on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. 100% of the proceeds are donated to Feeding America, the nationwide network of food banks that feeds 37 million people.
