Dangerous Muse is New York City’s electronic rock project. Fronted by songwriter and vocalist, Mike Furey, the group has received high-praise and critical acclaim since they burst onto the electronic pop scene in 2006 with their break-out underground hit ‘The Rejection’. Since then, Dangerous Muse has given us a string of cutting-edge releases that have resonated deeply with fans worldwide.

Fame Kills from the Dangerous Muse “RED” EP, available now on iTunes, is a story that Furey wrote during a time in which he was feeling trapped by popular conventions and was experimenting with song form and length. His story is of a girl aspiring to be a superstar and of a boy who tries to reach her before she loses all sense of herself. The concept for the video is high fashion industrial dystopia, portrayed through non-narrative series of vignettes. The video was born out of a larger film collaboration between Furey, director Eric Miclette, and creative director, Love Bailey. A special version of the song was produced specifically for the music video by David Sisko, with additional vocals by Sandflower and guitar by Ray Suhy. Shortly after the filming of this video a dear friend of the band and crew, Scott Andrew, New York City make-up and drag icon, passed away unexpectedly. Scott created all of the make-up looks in this video and it is dedicated to his legacy.

Having conquered the New York City nightlife scene, playing legendary venues like Highline Ballroom, Knitting Factory and Irving Plaza, Dangerous Muse will finally be arriving in the UK for a special show presented by EQ Magazine and held at the Underbelly on August 21st. It promises to excite their devoted fan base in celebration of their new ‘Green’ EP dropping later this year and the band is also set to perform as direct support for dates on Erasure’s 2014 the Violet Flame Tour.
