BORN CAGES ANNOUNCE CO-HEADLINE TOUR WITH DREAMERS
Debut Album I’m Glad I’m Not Me Out Later This Spring
Born Cages has announced a co-headline tour with Dreamers and special guest The Kickback. The tour kicks off March 4th in Richmond, VA and includes stops at Savannah Stopover, 35 Denton and SXSW along the way (tour dates below). Tickets can be purchased HERE. The band is also confirmed for the 2015 Vans Warped Tour. They will perform on the Ernie Ball Stage for the entire tour from June 19th through August 8th. Dates for the 2015 Vans Warped Tour are below.
The band premiered their new video for the song “Rolling Down The Hill” on Yahoo Music, which recently won mtvU’s The Freshmen competition. The song has charted Top 10 at Alternative Specialty radio and has impacted commercial alternative radio. “Rolling Down The Hill” is available for purchase digitally on iTunes HERE. Born Cages will release their debut full-length album I’m Glad I’m Not Me later this Spring. The album was produced by Jon Kaplan (Cage The Elephant, Walk The Moon) and Oliver Straus (Arctic Monkeys, Metric, Matt & Kim) at Mission Sound in Brooklyn, NY.
In 2013, Born Cages released The Sidelines EP on Washington Square, an imprint of Razor & Tie. Vice Noisey describes the band’s music as a “blend of 80s-influenced synth/guitar work and modern pop-rock sounds” and Filter called the EP “Spellbinding.” Blackbook raves, “More than a decade after the riff-heavy heyday of The Strokes, The Vines, The White Stripes, The Hives, and many other bands that put the word “the” before a plural noun, we may be ready for another bout of ripping revivalism…Born Cages, certainly makes that argument.”
Lead singer and guitarist Vlad Holiday formed Born Cages in 2011 and the group dove head-first into New York City’s eclectic indie rock movement. He is joined by Matt Maroulakos on bass/keyboards and Dave Tantao on drums. The band has shared bills with a bevy of acts such as Hockey, Magic Man, X Ambassadors, Gold Fields, Royal Teeth, Said The Whale, Donald Cumming (of The Virgins) and Har Mar Superstar. They were even handpicked by Guns N’ Roses to be the sole support band on two sold out GN’R club shows.
