WIld Party’s Debut Album Phantom Pop Debuts October 7th

DEBUT ALBUM PHANTOM POP OUT OCTOBER 7th ON OLD FRIENDS RECORDS

PRESS HERE to Listen to Lead Single “When I Get Older”

Texas’s own indie-rock band Wild Party is thrilled to announce their debut album Phantom Pop will be released on October 7th via Old Friends Records. The album was produced by the band’s bassistEthan Kaufmann with the four-piece also consisting of vocalist Lincoln Kreifels, guitarist Lucas Hughes and drummer Cary LaScala.

Soon after their formation, Wild Party toured with The Wombats across the UK in 2010. Upon their return to States, the band seized the moment and took a DIY approach, releasing a series of tracks and video content over the next couple of years while they developed their sound. Their standout witty lyrics and catchy chorus lines bounce over their stellar pop-rock tunes that quickly gained them attention and a dedicated fan base. The guys then took on SXSW 2014 by storm, playing a whooping 12 shows, creating an even bigger buzz which eventually lead to signing with Old Friends Records (Carousel, Hellogoodbye, Static Jacks) in November 2013.

As they were signing, the ears of iHeartRadio were already sparked as the Clear Channel digital radio service nominated Wild Party for MACY’S/iHeartRadio Rising Star 2014 contest, which they are still in the running for. Their tracks also garnered some TV attention, as their songs were used in a few MTV shows, plus their forthcoming single “Out Right” was recently featured in a Major League Soccer 90 sec promo leading up to this year’s World Cup – PRESS HERE to watch.

Sugary synths melodies, slick rock guitar riffs, and upbeat drum rhythms help the band to create their power-pop sound. Album tracks like “Take My Advice,” the keyboard driven “Outright,” the breezy elements of soul-rock on “Chasin’ Honey,” and “When I Get Older,” and the high-stepping, indie-pop vibe on “Violet” solidifies Wild Party has created an LP full of radio hits.  Bands such as the Killers, the Strokes, Rooney and Two Door Cinema Club are certainly touchstones—as are Phoenix and the Format, two favorites of frontman Kreifels—although Wild Party aren’t beholden to any one influence or genre..

“We want to write fun, happy songs that people can dance to, with lyrics that people can relate to,” Kreifels says. “We really appreciate all types of music—we just want to make uplifting music, whether it’s pop-rock, power-pop or indie or folk. We just want people to smile while they’re listening to our music. That’s the main thing.”

Live they fill the stage with tremendous amounts of much energy and unstoppable positive attitude. The band will embark on a coast-to-coast, Summer tour, playing their own headline shows and supportingAndrew McMahon. All dates listed below.  “The tours keep getting better, just because I feel more comfortable and more confident with our performances,” Kreifels says. “We’re very genuine and honest with our music and sincere with what we play. We’re not trying to be like somebody else, or trying to do something because we think it’s cool. We just love music.”
