Fall Tour Dates Announced
“The Los Angeles fivesome indeed puree a slew of equatorial guitar sounds
and rhythms and textures, which combined, bridge the gap
between Animal Collective and Foreign Born.” – SPIN
“A well-balanced blend of electronic, rock, and global instrumentation, and easily
digestible dance-friendly rhythms” – The AV Club
“The quintet hits pop and calypso flavors along the way, finding itself slotted
alongside Vampire Weekend and Animal Collective…Nicely done” – Under The Radar
SPIN is streaming White Arrows new album In Bardo a week before street date. Spin said, “The new album combines wire-y guitar (“Get By”), slinky electronics (“Scream”), sunny grooves (“We Can’t Ever Die”), and powerful percussion (“I Want a Taste”) to gauzy, entrancing effect.” In Bardo is out September 16 and can be pre-ordered now on CD and LP and digitally through iTunes now. Earlier this month, Pigeons and Planes premiered White Arrows’ latest single “Nobody Cares” and said, “the track encapsulates their psychedelic pop tendencies perfectly, with the catchy chorus rising up from a swirling cacophony of electronic elements, bright guitar, and pitched down vocals…Although it’s a carefully constructed song, a loose organic feel still prevails, with tinges of melancholy shot through the otherwise warm-weather vibes-perfect for the end of summer.” “Nobody Cares” is also streaming and available to share on SoundCloud. Last month, White Arrows played MTV’s VMA Artist to Watch Concert at The Avalon in the Los Angeles. The band performed alongside Bleachers and Charli XCX. Pervious bands that played at this event include The Neighbourhood, New Politics, and Wildcat! Wildcat!. White Arrows is Los Angeles’ Alt 98.7 Artist In Residence for the month of September. All month long they will posting the latest news on the band and their upcoming release. White Arrows also just announced a fall headlining tour in support of In Bardo. The upcoming tour will include stops in major west coast cities including San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and more.
Bardo is defined as a transitional state of being, the phase of existence between death and rebirth. It marks the end of one thing and the beginning of another. It represents an evolution, which is why the title of White Arrows’ second album, In Bardo, is so appropriate. The Los Angeles indie rock band found themselves in a new plane of being after touring extensively since their inception, hitting the road with bands such as Cults, White Denim, The Naked and Famous, and performing at festivals like Coachella and Sasquatch. The band finally grounded themselves enough to create a cohesive work that reflected the musicians’ present mindset. Songs like “Leave It Alone” represent the musicians’ current mindset and inspirations. For White Arrows, In Bardo is the transition. It marks the end of one thing and the beginning of another.
