The Weird And Wonderful Marmozets Coming

ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM ‘THE WEIRD AND WONDERFUL MARMOZETS’
OUT SEPTEMBER 30TH ON ROADRUNNER RECORDS;
US TOUR DATES SLATED FOR FALL 2014

Roadrunner Records group Marmozets have announced details of their debut album ‘THE WEIRD AND WONDERFUL MARMOZETS’ which will be released digitally in the US on SEPTEMBER 30TH. ‘THE WEIRD AND WONDERFUL MARMOZETS’ is currently available for pre-order via iTunes, with all pre-orders receiving instant downloads of “Born Young And Free,” “Why Do You Hate Me?” “Captivate You” and “Move, Shake, Hide.”

Produced by former Hundred Reasons guitarist Larry Hibbitt, the album emphasizes Marmozets’ growing skill in developing a broad range of styles, including the punk assault of ‘Cover Up’ and ‘Born Young And Free’, the brooding dynamic contrasts featured on ‘Captivate You’, the visceral aggression of ‘Why Do You Hate Me?’ and the soaring progressive epic ‘Cry.’

What’s more, Marmozets, who made their US debut earlier this year on the 2014 Vans Warped Tour are set to return to the states later this fall to support Issues on the “Journeys’ Noise Tour.” The trek which kicks off with a special Halloween performance at The Masquerade in Atlanta, GA on October 31ST will also feature I Killed The Prom Queen, Ghost Town and Nightmares. Earlier this year, Marmozets joined forces with Issues and Ghost Town for a very special pre-party boat show performance at the first annual Alternative Press Music Awards. Tickets for all tour dates go on sale August 22ND at 10:00AM ET. For more information please visit http://www.marmozets.co.uk/

One of Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need to Know in 2014”, Marmozets are an explosive, dynamic family quintet from Bingley in Yorkshire, tearing up the rock music rule book and rewriting it from the ground up. Inspired by the technical ferocity of bands like The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Mars Volta and The Chariot, Marmozets mix this with their own chaotic live show and epic melodies to create a truly inimitable blend of math rock, hardcore and post-punk. A head on collision of two families comprising of Becca MacIntyre (vocals), her siblings Sam (guitar) and Josh (drums), as well as the Bottomley brothers Jack and Will (on guitar and bass respectively), Marmozets have a relentless work ethic which has seen them dedicate their entire lives to the band.

“The only way you’re going to go up is to keep training yourselves, both individually and as a band,” says Sam with the steely determination that has allowed Marmozets to grow from self-confessed “crazy, cheeky kids” to a band who really matter to a growing army of devotees. “We haven’t come from out of nowhere, we’re not messing about: this is our lives.”

Marmozets’ have received high critical praise and support from BBC Radio 1 DJs Daniel P Carter, Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe, with regular airplay on Kerrang! Radio & XFM’s Rock Show. Celebrated by Rock Sound as “one of the most exciting new sounds to come out of the UK,” with The Sunday Times raving, “Becca MacIntyre’s larynx-shredding vocals lead the charge; the template takes in pop and prog…there’s complexity lurking in the assault-and-battery rock,” Marmozets are already being tipped for the top. The band’s growing reputation has been underlined by show stopping sets on Warped Tour this past summer and their recent headline set on the BBC Introducing stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
