Atlantic recording artist Vance Joy has announced today’s release of his much anticipated debut album. “DREAM YOUR LIFE AWAY” – which includes the worldwide #1 hit single, “Riptide” – is available now in stores and at all online retailers.

This week will see Vance Joy celebrating the release of “DREAM YOUR LIFE AWAY” with an array of promotional events and concert appearances, beginning tonight with a special performance airing live on SiriusXM’s The Spectrum channel at 8:30 PM ET from New York City’s Studio at Webster Hall. Next up, the Australian tunesmith – who spent his summer lighting up such festivals as Chicago’s Lollapalooza, Montreal’s Osheaga Music & Arts Festival, and San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival – will make his US late night television debut with a performance on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, set for tomorrow, September 10th (check local listings). Thursday, September 11th, will see Vance Joy performing a free show as part of Boston’s Radio 92.9 Copley Concert Series at Copley Square, set for September 11th, followed by an appearance at the Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party at Philadelphia’s Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing on September 13th. The jam-packed release week schedule will conclude with an exclusive in-store event at Rough Trade NYC (64 N. 9th Street, Brooklyn), scheduled for September 14th at 2PM – for details, please see www.roughtrade.com/events/2014/9/715.

As if that weren’t enough, VH1 named Vance Joy one of their “You Oughta Know: Artists on the Rise” for the month of September. Since its launch in 2005, VH1’s “You Oughta Know” franchise has introduced promising new artists on the rise and served as a barometer for what and who’s hot in music today. Many “You Oughta Know” artists have gone on to win industry awards and accolades including “Best New Artist” Grammy Awards and nominations. This highly acclaimed franchise has helped break artists such as Ed Sheeran, Adele, Mumford & Sons, Lorde, Sam Smith, Gotye and Sia and many, many more.

Later this fall, Vance Joy will embark on a major headline tour dubbed the “Dream Your Life Away World Tour 2014.” The trek’s North American leg gets underway October 17th at Dallas’s Trees and then travels through November (see attached itinerary). Vance Joy will be accompanied on most North American dates by fellow Atlantic recording artist Jaymes Young. Shows are already selling out – for complete details and ticket information, please see www.vancejoy.com.

“Riptide,” Vance Joy’s debut North American single, is currently in its 5th week as the #1 song at Alternative radio outlets nationwide. The track was declared iTunes’ “Single of the Week” upon its arrival earlier this year while also being ranked among Spotify’s “Top 10 Most Viral Tracks.” What’s more, the “Riptide” companion video is fast approaching 20 million individual views at http://youtu.be/uJ_1HMAGb4k.

Vance Joy – a.k.a. Melbourne-based singer/songwriter James Keogh – has earned an extraordinary array of accolades in recent months, including being named among Shazam’s “10 Artists Predicted To Break In 2014” and Spotify’s “Spotlight Artists For 2014” rankings. Furthermore, TIME declared Vance Joy an “Artist To Watch” while Billboard hailed him as one of the “Top 10 Artists Making Global Noise.” More recently, USA Today ranked him among their “Five Australia Acts You Need To Know Now”.

Vance Joy has already spent much of 2014 traveling North America, including a major North American tour as special guest to Young The Giant and performances at South By Southwest, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, and Lollapalooza. Highlights include an electrifying radio session on KCRW’s ever-influential Morning Becomes Eclectic, streaming now at www.kcrw.com/music/shows/morning-becomes-eclectic/vance-joy.

A 4x-platinum certified, top 10 smash in his native Australia, “Riptide” has already proven an international blockbuster for Vance Joy. The track – featured on his 2013 debut EP, “GOD LOVES YOU WHEN YOU’RE DANCING” – is certified platinum in Sweden and Canada; gold in Austria, Germany, Ireland and New Zealand; and silver in the UK. Worldwide, the track is streaming more than 3 million times per week.

Hailed by Entertainment Weekly for “(strumming) like a street-corner busker, but (sneaking) in stadium-size hooks,” Vance Joy cut his teeth in Melbourne’s folk scene, armed with a collection of exquisite, heartfelt songs penned during his post-university travels in India and Southeast Asia. Bigger shows quickly followed, including a sold out Australian headline tour and treks with such diverse artists as Ben Howard, Of Monsters & Men and Julia Stone, as well as US dates alongside Lissie and Tom Odell. Critical acclaim has also begun to gather, with Neon Gold declaring “Riptide” to be “one of the best things to happen to us all year.”
