The A.V. Club’s “Pioneering” series takes us to Los Angeles this week! The whole series has been incredible to watch– its has featured the Mountain Goats paying tribute to the Ramones in NYC (watch HERE), Protomartyr celebrating The Stooges in Ann Arbor (watch HERE), Those Darlins paying homage to Dolly Parton in Nashville (watch HERE), Sharon Van Etten paying tribute to Bruce Springsteen in New Jersey (watch HERE), and Shakey Graves and Eef Barzelay celebrating Jefferson Airplane (watch HERE).

This week’s great episode is all about the legacy of Gram Parsons–White Fence covers “Lazy Days” at the legendary Troubadour club, one of Parsons’ old haunts, and the band and host Eef Barzelay discusses Parsons’ career and impact with A.V. Clubbers.

Each of the “Pioneering” episodes focuses on the stories of groundbreaking American musicians, as told by current-day artists. A new “Pioneering” episode will run every Monday through May 26th. The series is hosted by critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter Eef Barzelay.
