You’ll be able to hear US THE DUO’s breakout hit, “No Matter Where You Are,” like never before in the upcoming animated film from 20th Century Fox, The Book of Life—in theaters October 17. During the final triumphant scene, stars Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna and Placido Domingo give their own spirited and stunning rendition of the song, while US THE DUO’s original version plays over the end credits. Both versions of the song are included on the movie soundtrack being released by Sony Classical on October 14.

Directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez and produced by Academy Award-nominee Guillermo del Toro, The Book of Life stars Channing Tatum, Diego Luna, Zoe Saldana and Ice Cube in telling the fantastical journey of Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart. This marks the band’s first major film placement.

Similar to the film, the story of US THE DUO is one of love at first sight. After Michael and Carissa met on the set of a music video shoot, they kept their long distance romance kindled via social media and were married within one year. Their love story and impactful music makes them the perfect addition to Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend. “It’s amazing how both The Book of Life and Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend capture the entire essence of life, love and family. Our music and lyrics express the exact same thing, so working together with Fox and Oprah was naturally a perfect fit” said Michael and Carissa Alvarado.

The arena tour features Oprah on stage, telling her own story in addition to appearances by Deepak Chopra and best-selling authors Elizabeth Gilbert [Eat, Pray, Love], Rob Bell [Love Wins and What We Talk About When We Talk About God], and Iyanla Vanzant Forgiveness: 21 Days to Forgive Everyone for Everything] as well as Dancing With the Stars finalist Amy Purdy. US THE DUO stand out as the featured musical act during O Town, a pop-up town square taking place throughout the weekend event. Oprah’s Life You Want Weekend kicks off September 5-6 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA and wraps up November 14-15 at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA.

In early 2014, US THE DUO vaulted to prominence via Vine. Their #Us6SecondCovers of Destiny’s Child and The Neighborhood gained major traction, but it was their medleys that launched them to stardom on the platform. Mash-ups of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry caught the attention of BuzzFeed, iHeartRadio, and Business Insider and soon, their social media following grew to over 4 million. US THE DUO inked a deal with Republic Records in March 2014 making history as the first artists signed to a major label from Vine. Since then, their full-length original album, No Matter Where You Are, has reached #9 on the iTunes Pop Albums Chart, and landed Top 30 on the overall Albums Chart. The couple recently completed their first headlining tour with sold out dates throughout North America and have been featured by everybody from Good Morning America and The Today Show to Huffington Post, Yahoo! and VH1’s Big Morning Buzz.
