The Trews Tour States Behind New Album

THE TREWS RETURN TO THE U.S. FOR AUGUST TOUR

SECOND RUN BEHIND RECENTLY RELEASED SELF-TITLED NETTWERK DEBUT

“The band delivers solid, no-nonsense sets full of grizzled pub-rock, gritty power-pop and mod-influenced classic pop, with with a dash of self-effacing humor and humility thrown in for good measure.”
– Annie Zaleski, Cleveland Plain Dealer

“Electric ultra-pop… Guitars and keyboards grind in time to the big buzzy heart-bleeding vocals.”
– IMPOSE

Canada’s The Trews released their self-titled, Nettwerk debut digitally in April and supported it by heading down from the Great White North for a run of shows in the States. The quartet follows up with a jaunt through the mid-west starting August 10th in Michigan. Two of the shows (Cincinnati & Louisville) are make-ups for postponed gigs when singer Colin McDonald came down with a broncial infection and the band had to cancel their 2nd and 3rd performances ever in 1000+ gigs over 12 years.

The Trews is an electrifying punch of 70s rock with tight grooves and pristine vocal harmonies led by blazing lead single, “What’s Fair Is Fair”. Produced by Gavin Brown (Metric, Billy Talent, The Tragically Hip) and guitarist John-Angus MacDonald (The Trews, The Glorious Sons), The Trews is the band’s maiden release with new label Nettwerk, home to Passenger, Peter Murphy, Boy & Bear, Family of the Year and more.

The Guardian declares, “They have established themselves as one of this country’s top rock acts, packing venues from coast to coast and cultivating a growing fan base in the U.S, U.K. and Australia.” Of their recent New York show, On Stage Magazine attests, “If you want a night of hard rocking, loud music, you can go see a hundred bands. But if you want it loud, hard rocking, and you’re looking for quality songs and musicianship, go see The Trews.”

The Trews have had 14 Top 10 singles on Rock radio, two Gold Certified albums and received numerous JUNO Award nominations. They’ve played well over 1,000 shows worldwide, both on their own and supporting legendary acts including The Rolling Stones, KISS, Robert Plant, Guns ‘n Roses, Kid Rock and Bruce Springsteen.
