Singer songwriter Trevor Hall is excited to announce that his “Small Is Beautiful” tour has partnered with professional snowboarder Kevin Pearce’s “Love Your Brain” Foundation. “Love Your Brain” is helping to improve the lives of brain injury survivors through advocating a mindful approach to brain injury prevention, rehabilitation and overall brain health. Because of the foundation, brain injury survivors, like Kevin, are gaining access to healing practices such as yoga and music. One hundred percent of proceeds from “Love Your Brain” t-shirts sold at the “Small Is Beautiful” shows will go directly to the foundation. If you aren’t familiar with Kevin’s story, check out the award-winning documentary The Crash Reel here: http://thecrashreel.com/loveyourbrain.
The North American “Small Is Beautiful” tour begins on September 9th at the Aladdin Theater in Portland, OR. The tour will include stops in 30+ cities including Vancouver, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Boston and New York City. See the full list of dates below. The announcement comes on the heels of Trevor having wrapped up a 40+ city amphitheater tour with Michael Franti’s Soulshine Summer Music and Yoga Tour. Commenting on his “Small is Beautiful” tour Trevor states, “The ‘Small Is Beautiful’ tour is not simply about playing music in smaller venues after a summer of playing big amphitheaters and expansive festival grounds. Rather, ‘Small is beautiful’ is a message and a meditation – one that I feel so many of us need amidst all of the world’s chaos and strife … ‘Small is beautiful’ is about realizing the beauty of simplicity and remembering that it is the simple things in our lives that are truly the greatest gifts. It is about returning to the roots – of ourselves and our earth’s natural way – about putting less emphasis on the material and more value on the spiritual. It is about supporting all things local, living more sustainably, and lessening our desires and consumption while increasing our giving. It is about slowing down and listening – to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us. It is about recognizing the greatness in a small act of kindness and remembering that the greatest trees grow from small seeds. ‘Small is beautiful’ reminds us that we are all a part of one great village family, that we are all children of this earth, and that, to borrow the words of Ghandi, in a gentle way we can shake the world.”
Trevor recently surprised his fans with the sudden release of his new 12-track album Chapter of the Forest, a collection of songs born during a yearlong sabbatical when Trevor returned to his beloved India, Nepal, Vermont, and Maine, and spent time in deep reflection.
“This album is inspired by simplicity, by the roots of life, and by the beauty that one finds in solitude and in nature,” says Trevor.
Chapter of the Forest was released on June 17th and debuted at #3 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart and #17 on the iTunes Overall Albums chart.
