“…concert attendees rushing toward the stage looked as if they might tear the building apart.” – New York Times

“…an evening of unexpected collaborations…” – Wall Street Journal

“Fans jumped high in their seats…Carnegie Hall is a seated venue but music lovers were eager and lost in the music…” – Associated Press

“For a few glorious moments, New York’s Carnegie Hall devolved into a scene straight out of a CBGB fever dream…many in the crowd could no longer take it, storming to the front of the stage and going completely apeshit. It was the kind of scene only possible at the Tibet House benefit…” – Rolling Stone

Rock visionary and poet Patti Smith will return to the 25th Annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert on March 5th with Her Band and Jesse Smith for a transcendent live performance. If you missed her bringing Carnegie Hall to its knees last year, now is your chance to catch all the action! Also joining the line-up is Grammy-nominated musician Sturgill Simpson, whose album Metamodern Sounds of Country Music remains one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the past year.

This special night will also feature esteemed American composer and artistic director Philip Glass (who curated the line-up), Grammy Award-winning psychedelic alt-rock band The Flaming Lips, renowned musician and performance artist Laurie Anderson, celebrated Tibetan musician Tenzin Choegyal, and internationally acclaimed, double-platinum selling Canadian roots musician Ashley MacIsaac. Chuck Close, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Uma Thurman and Arden Wohl are Honorary Chairpersons for the evening.

Celebrating its Silver Anniversary, the one-of-a-kind concert has dazzled audiences for years now, assembling some of the biggest names in music and offering a mix of unique musical collaborations and solo performances.  Last year’s incredible event garnered rave reviews from the likes of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, Rolling Stone, Spin, Vogue, W, Huffington Post, NME, Consequence of Sound and many more. Proceeds support the work of the Tibet House US, a non-profit educational institution and cultural embassy founded in 1987 at the request of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to ensure the survival of the unique Tibetan civilization.
