Sondre Lerche’s “Lucky Guy” Debuts
SONDRE LERCHE RELEASES GORGEOUS NEW VIDEO FOR “LUCKY GUY” (FROM HIS CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED ALBUM PLEASE) About the “Lucky Guy” video, from Sondre himself: “My friend Marius Hauge has photographed me a lot in private and as an artist through the years. He had wanted to capture the portrait in motion and asked to shoot me, my drummer Dave Heilman and my bass player Chris Holm while we performed ‘Lucky Guy’. It’s the most stripped down (save for Tim Fain’s multi-faceted string arrangement and performance) and direct song on Please, and I was very thankful to be able to capture the essence of what was a really charged emotional moment for us on stage every night during last fall’s Please tour. Marius is a master of shadows and light, and works with intense precision. It’s an intense song to perform over and over all day. ‘Lucky Guy’ is a love song to what was and isn’t anymore. I’ve noticed some people have interpreted it as ironic or almost sarcastic, while other see it as noble, almost overly diplomatic. It can be read many ways, I’m sure. To me, a major theme was trying to find dignity in a challenging, life-changing situation, and softly coming to terms with reality.” — Sondre Lerche SONDRE LERCHE ON TOUR: Mar 18 Kongsberg, Norway // EnergiMølla TICKETS Mar 19 Sandvika, Norway // Musikkflekken TICKETS Mar 20 Volda, Norway // Rokken Mar 21 Mo i Rana, Norway // Rød Snø TICKETS Aug 11-15 Oslo, Norway // Øya Festival TICKETS |
