Seven Lions’ Brings The Throes Of Winter
SEVEN LIONS ANNOUNCES THE THROES OF WINTER EP OUT MARCH 3, 2015
DIGITAL PRE-ORDER LIVE TODAY
SEVEN LIONS is gearing up to release his brand new EP, The Throes of Winter [Casablanca Records], on March 3 with all digital partners. You can pre-order the six-track EP today at this link now and listen here to the track “Lose Myself” featuring Lynn Gunn of American rock band PVRIS. The Throes of Winter is the first of a series of releases this year from Seven Lions. Jeff Montalvo (who is Seven Lions) has decided to buck the industry trend of releasing single after single.
“I wanted to start making the music more thematic, interesting, and part of something larger,” he explains. “Since artists aren’t releasing proper albums anymore, it makes sense to create something that’s digitally artistic with real cohesion as opposed to tossing out singles and just haphazardly seeing what sticks. This is one big piece instead of a bunch of little slivers.” The artist and producer has built a vision that encompasses a series of EPs as a larger body of work and The Throes of Winter is his first EP of 2015.
The Throes of Winter will also include the new single “A Way to Say Goodbye” [featuring Sombear] which combines acoustic guitars with his instantly recognizable and alluring production. SEVEN LIONS co-wrote “A Way to Say Goodbye” with Matthew Koma, creating a crossroads between indie pop and EDM in the process. The EP also boasts a dream collaboration with Davey Havok of AFI, whom Montalvo has been a longtime fan of,on the electronically chilly and ethereally catchy “December.” Check out a trailer for the EP here.
2014’s critically acclaimed Worlds Apart EP formally allowed listeners into SEVEN LIONS’ realm. As listeners immersed themselves in the music, he supported everybody from Porter Robinson to Krewella on tour and gave incendiary performances at top festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, HARD, Paradiso, Electric Forrest, Electric Zoo, Ile Soniq, Imagine, SkylabXX, Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival New York, Lights All Night and more in addition to his own sold out Worlds Apart headline tour.
