Seth Avett And Jessica Lea Mayfield Tour Elliott Smith Project

SETH AVETT AND JESSICA LEA MAYFIELD

ANNOUNCE U.S. CONCERT TOUR

Dates Will Support the Duo’s Tribute Album to Elliott Smith

Following last week’s announcement of their Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield Sing Elliott Smith album due out March 17 on Ramseur Records, Avett and Mayfield announce “An Evening with Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield” that will be presented in 13 intimate concert venues across the country.  The tour kicks off March 10 in Charlotte, NC, and will wrap up in Los Angeles, CA on March 31.

“With a considerable portion of the setlist being comprised of covers by another artist, Jessica and I are certainly heading into unchartered territory,” said Avett.  “I’m expecting these performances to be among the most intimate of our lives to date.”

Both Avett and Mayfield are ardent fans of Smith and his music, and with Mayfield in the opening slot of previous Avett Brothers concert dates, the two have performed Smith songs live together before.  For this upcoming tour, the duo will be joined by bassist Paul Defiglia (The Avett Brothers).  In addition to performing Smith songs from their album, Avett and Mayfield will likely sprinkle some solo selections into the set.

Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield Sing Elliott Smith was produced by Seth Avett and recorded over the past three years at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC as well as at Avett’s and Mayfield’s homes.
