Sarah Miles’ Hear Me Out Released
SINGER-SONGWRITER SARAH MILES RELEASES NEW EP “HEAR ME OUT” OUT TODAY
Award winning, pop, NYC singer-songwriter, Sarah Miles has released her third album, “Hear Me Out”, today. This time around, her fans helped fund the project through a Kickstarter campaign. After writing a song a week over the last year, and touring the country playing the new material, she is ready for the world to ‘hear her out’. Sarah’s song, “Something About You” has been featured on NBC’s, The Voice, and she’s toured with acclaimed singer-songwriters such as Sister Hazel, Tyler Hilton, Teddy Geiger, Tony Lucca, Ingram Hill, Matt Duke, Jesse Ruben, and Pat McGee.
Miles met with her producer, Brian T. Murphy a few months before she recorded the album. “We were doing a lot of writing together initially and through this experience I knew right away that he was the one to produce the album. Something just clicked with Brian,” says Sarah. I could tell that he got my sound, and I loved the way he played the piano; with such feeling. When we played together in sessions, everything sounded the way I wanted my music to be heard. Brain introduced me to some talented musicians that ended up playing on the album. The instrumentals sound so perfect with my melodies, I’m just thrilled. He really nailed it.
Music and songwriting is Sarah’s passion but it is also one of the hardest career paths for any one to take. Based on the odds, not many people are able to make a healthy living making music. “When I sing, I don’t want to sing, if there’s no one there to hear…hear me out, it’s all about the hours and hours I spend writing and performing, where I am just not sure enough people are going to hear my music as an independent artist,” says Sarah. “As if I’m possibly writing for no one, which is a depressing thought. I also spill my guts in the song, Rigid Frame. It’s about a desperate sort of heartbreak; “If you don’t love me anymore, If I can’t give you what you’re looking for, I can pick it up, pick it up, pick it up again.” I sing and write about real stuff in my life and my hope is that my fans and hopefully new fans will connect to the lyrics and melodies.
ABOUT SARAH MILES:
“It’s been a 3-year journey,” Sarah Miles says. “I went through love, heartbreak, moved to New York City, went on the road, and explored collaborating with other songwriters. I’ve grown so much as a person and as an artist. This is the opening ceremony for me—these are the most confident songs I’ve written.” She has gorgeously flowing dynamics as a singer, capable of euphoric skyward melodies and intimately fragile phrasing. Her songwriting is empowering, authentic, and stylistically touches upon folk, pop, and country. It’s an infectious blend of accessible song-craft and bold emotional candor. “I like to write songs that are relatable to everyone,” Sarah says of the warm intimacy inherent in her songwriting. As a solo artist, Sarah’s song, “Something About You” won numerous songwriting awards and it was featured on NBC’s, The Voice. She’s toured with acclaimed singer-songwriters such as Sister Hazel, Teddy Geiger, Tony Lucca, Ingram Hill, Matt Duke, Tyler Hilton, and Pat McGee. Recently, Sarah was selected to contribute to WordKraft’s Hand-Krafted CD sampler.
Sarah grew up in Princeton, New Jersey and has the distinction of being the youngest child ever to be admitted to NJ’s prestigious Westminster Conservatory Children’s Choir. As a member of various a cappella groups and choirs as a child, she toured Sweden, Newfoundland, and Toronto, and performed at The White House and on the Today Show. After studying at University of Vermont, she moved to New York to pursue music full time.
