In February of 2014, The Royal Oui released their self-titled debut via Vancouver Label, File Under: Music. After a year of supporting the album, which included over a hundred shows in North America, The Royal Oui plan to release new music this year, but will do things a little differently. The duo will release a series of singles throughout the year, kicking off with the February 10 release of “Lovers in a Dangerous Time.” Their next single, “All About You,” will be released later this spring.

The Royal Oui is made of up the husband and wife team, Ari Shine and Adrienne Pierce. Their music could be the soundtrack to a quirky Wes Anderson love story. Ari and Adrienne were two individually successful songwriters. Ari made his name as the co-winner of the John Lennon Song of the Year Award and received glowing reviews for his solo album, Songs of Solomon. Adrienne was well known across the west coast for her songwriter skills and has toured with the likes of Jane Siberry and Damien Rice. Her songs have been exposed to millions through television placements on Grey’s Anatomy and the Veronica Mars soundtrack. The two would cross paths at an LA recording studio which lead to casual exchanges and eventually writing together. Marriage wasn’t far behind. In 2008, the pair married and continued supporting each other with their individual careers. Eventually, the pair decided to focus on music together, as a duo. While they had written together for years, it was only now that the undercover duo found themselves exposed and writing with a shared voice – that of The Royal Oui.
