Rosie Lowe returns with her stunning new single, “Who’s That Girl?” The track’s music video premiered via Dazed & Confused. The single gives another hint as to what we can expect from Lowe’s debut album, which will be released on Paul Epworth’s Wolf Tone label later this year.
Following the release of her acclaimed debut EP Right Thing and the single, “How’d You Like It” last year, Rosie Lowe has gone from strength to strength. After a headlining slot at Annie Mac Presents Collected in December, the South London singer-songwriter kicked off 2015 with a notable inclusion in Dazed & Confused’s “Dazed 100” list, before going on to support the legendary Neneh Cherry on her January UK tour, which took in a date at London’s Electric Ballroom.
Says Lowe of the single: “Who’s That Girl?” is about not recognizing someone any more. It’s always in the times of struggle – when something bad happens – that the biggest lessons are learnt and you realize who your true friends are. Some people step up and some people step down. “Who’s That Girl?” is about a friend that stepped down when I needed her most. It was a blessing in disguise as it opened my eyes to all the things I couldn’t see from such close proximity.”
For the video for “Who’s That Girl?”, Lowe worked with award-winning directing duo, Bison (London Grammar, Coldplay), who used the rhythm and vocal stems of the song to midi-trigger lights and projections, interconnecting the music and visuals perfectly, to stunning effect.
