Rival Sons Live From Gothenburg Sweden Concert Film Debuts On Paladia

Rival Sons’ concert film ‘Rival Sons Live From Gothenburg, Sweden 2012’ premiered on the MTV Network, Palladia, on Sunday. Captured on their European Fall Tour, Rival Sons from Long Beach, California, deliver an inspired set to a sold-out Tradgar’n Audience in Gothenburg, Sweden. An intimate yet electrifying live experience, they live up to their touted reputation. Performances include songs from their Self-Titled, Pressure and Time and Head Down LPs. See future show times for the film on Palladia below.

Guitarist Scott Holiday says, “This film was a labor or love that’s been going on since it was shot. I basically took it upon myself to keep it alive and see it through to completion, which at times was really difficult with our busy touring schedule, recording, and general life business. Not to mention the editor and director being in Sweden. The back and forth work took a fair bit longer than usual. Alas, the end result is something that definitely captures a very real exchange with a sold out Gothenburg Sweden audience just foaming at the mouth for rock n roll! And a band foaming a the mouth to give it as such, we just so happen to deliver a fun inspired show that is raw and powerful. I think it’ll turn all sorts of folks onto the band. I couldn’t be happier having it debut and run on my favorite music channel Palladia! Tune in, turn on, drop out, and uh, TiVo that shit!”

Rival Sons’ new record ‘Great Western Valkyrie’ has received the highly coveted and rare score of 10/10 from Classic Rock Magazine. Critic Max Bell writes, “‘Great Western Valkyrie’ is a 20th Century fox and must be the best new American recording since The Black Keys’ ‘El Camino…This is fucking epic.”

Rival Sons will release ‘Great Western Valkyrie’ (Earache) on June 10, 2014, unleashing their freewheeling fuzz and improvisational stage ethos that The Guardian calls  “a vital force in the modern age.” Rival Sons blues and soul rock is loaded with gritty intricacies and a definite immediacy to their sound. The band often approaches their music as if they were on a mission: forcing songs to stay awake and active through instinctive and honest delivery. See below for dates.

The band’s new video for “Open My Eyes” recently premiered on Noisey. Watch clip below!
