Red Granite Pictures Nabs Mika Pryce For Creative Executive Position
MIKA PRYCE JOINS RED GRANITE PICTURES AS CREATIVE EXECUTIVE
Red Granite Pictures Co-chairmen Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland announced today the addition of Mika Pryce to their production team acting as Creative Executive of Red Granite. Pryce will be reporting directly to David Koplan, President of Production.
Pryce comes to Red Granite with a strong background in development coming off two years at Kevin McCormick’s Langley Park Pictures where she served as Story Editor. She has been with Evolution Media Capital and Lionsgate International adding good finance and production experience.
Riza Aziz, Chairman of Red Granite adds “Joey and I are thrilled to have Mika joining our team. She has a vast knowledge of established and up-and-coming writers and directors, which makes her a perfect addition to Red Granite as we work to further build our development slate.”
Red Granite Pictures will have two new theatrical films this fall in the marketplace; Alexandre Aja’s “Horns,” starring Daniel Radcliffe and Juno Temple being released by Radius October 31st and the much anticipated comedy sequel, “Dumb and Dumber To” from the Farrelly Brothers starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels being released November 14th from Universal Pictures. At the top of Red Granite’s development slate for 2015 is “The General,” a gritty look at the story of George Washington and “The Brigands of Rattleborge,” the number one Blacklist script in 2006 about a group of bandits that terrorize a small town in the old west under the cover of a torrential rain fall.
ABOUT RED GRANITE PICTURES
Co-founded by Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland in 2010, Red Granite Pictures is an American film finance, development, production, and distribution company.
As a major contender in today’s film industry, Red Granite includes Randy Hermann as CFO, David Koplan as President of Production and David Boyle heading Business and Legal Affairs. The Red Granite International distribution arm was formally unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2011, introducing Danny Dimbort and Christian Mercuri as its co-Presidents.
Since their delightful romantic comedy debut “Friends With Kids” (2011) starring Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Megan Fox, Adam Scott and Chris O’Dowd, Red Granite has also produced Martin Scorsese’s dark comedy “The Wolf of Wall Street” (2013), starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie. The movie was nominated for five Academy Awards and grossed over $389 million worldwide, making it a critical and commercial success. Red Granite Pictures also executive produced and handled all foreign distribution for Scott Cooper’s gritty drama “Out of the Furnace” (2013), starring Christian Bale and Casey Affleck.
Upcoming films include “Horns” (2014), the highly-anticipated adaptation of Joe Hill’s novel of the same name, directed by Alexandre Aja and starring Daniel Radcliffe and Juno Temple, and “Dumb and Dumber To” (2014), the sequel to the Farrelly brothers’ 1994 hit comedy, with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprising their roles as principle characters. The films are slated for a 2014 holiday season release.
