Having just wrapped a tour with Andy Grammer and Alex & Sierra, breakout New York City-based singer/songwriter Rachel Platten has announced she’ll join Colbie Caillat and Christina Perri as special guest on “The Girls Night Out, Boys Can Come Too Tour” this summer. The cross country trek kicks off July 10 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT and continues through August 28 in Sandy, UT. See below for full list of dates.
Rachel’s new single “Fight Song” is quickly striking a chord. This week, the song leaps into the Top 20 at Adult Pop radio and is the format’s greatest gainer, while early support continues to come in at Pop radio including Radio Disney. Rachel has also been named Vevo’s DSCVR artist for the month of May. “Fight Song” is available everywhere now, including iTunes and Spotify.
“Fight Song” has truly become an anthem of positivity, leading Rachel to launch her #MyFightSong campaign across social media, where she’s asked fans to share their stories about overcoming personal struggles while sharing her own story about fighting self-doubt. Hundreds of fans have taken to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to share their own stories: https://tagboard.com/myfightsong/211945.
Rachel is currently finishing her debut album for Columbia Records, expected to be released later this year. For more, visit www.rachelplatten.com.
INFO…
‘Born and raised in Boston, Rachel Platten has been an independent musician for more than 10 years. While in college, Rachel realized her true calling and passion was music and upon graduation, dropped everything to move to New York City—specifically the musically-rich MacDougal Street in Manhattan’s West Village. There, Rachel met and played with a variety of musicians, from all skill levels and genres, from open mic nights to eventually self-booking and touring the country on her own, sharing stages with The Strokes, Lady Gaga, Matt Nathanson, The Fray, Gavin DeGraw, Regina Spektor and more. In 2011, Rachel landed a Top 20 hit at adult pop radio with her song “1,000 Ships,” which became the highest-charting independent release at the format in the last 10 years. Rachel’s songs have been featured on popular television shows and in films including Annie, One Tree Hill, Finding Carter, The Biggest Loser, and Pretty Little Liars’ highly-watched Christmas episode at the end of 2014. Rachel is currently finishing her debut album for Columbia Records, expected to be released later this year.
