Mike Ragogna: What’s your advice for new artists?

Paul Rodgers: Don’t do it. [laughs] I’m just kidding. It’s such a different world since I started. It was like a village when I started out, and now it’s a great big corporate city and you’ve got to be very careful. There’s so much to watch out for but I think you must remain true to yourself. I know that’s a little bit of a cliché, but you’ve got to follow your heart and do that which you feel is right for you. So many people can pull you in different directions. You can stand there and go, “What the hell, I’m totally confused.” So that’s the point at which you have to do exactly that. Follow your own instincts and your own heart, and even if it fails, you’re still you. You haven’t sold yourself away.
