Palma Violets‘ imminent return is marked by the release of their eagerly anticipated sophomore album Danger In The Club on May 5th via Rough Trade. Today the South London four-piece premiered the new music video for “English Tongue” via Rolling Stone. PRESS HERE to watch the video which was directed by British music luminary Don Letts (The Clash, The Pretenders, Franz Ferdinand) and stars actor Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones).
Palma Violets, who swept through Austin, TX this SXSW with an impressive rock n roll swagger that saw security guards at The Parish physically carrying them off stage for playing past curfew, will bring that same dedication to entertain to the US next month with a coast to coast tour which takes in Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles and more.
Palma Violets have gone from putting on riotous DIY gigs in their London studio to traveling the world playing to enraptured sold-out crowds and graduated to massive stages at festivals including Coachella and Glastonbury. Their debut 180 had been lauded by press outlets including the New York Times, who called the album “raggedly charming,” and Rolling Stone, who praised its “garageland guitars… and psych-nuggets organ” and declared the album one of 2013’s best debuts.
Palma Violets are: Sam Fryer (vocals, guitar), Chilli Jesson (vocals, bass), Peter Mayhew (keyboards) and Will Doyle (drums).
