Afro-Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz’ aspirations in their hit single “Am I Wrong” are coming to fruition as their hit single is now #1 at Top 40 airplay chart following 3 weeks as #1 at the Hot Adult Contemporary format. The song is #1 in overall audience at US radio reaching 186.6 million listeners this week with over 1 billion in total listenership. Back in April, “Am I Wrong” debuted as the #1 most added recorded at Top 40 record with 90 out-of-the-box adds indicating the stickiness of the “song of the summer.” The sensational anthem continues its 6-week reign as the #1 most Shazam’d song in the world with over 100 million global streams on Spotify. “Am I Wrong” is currently #4 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and in the Top 5 on the iTunes chart.

Nico Sereba and Vincent “Vinz” Dery hail from Oslo, Norway after their parents migrated from the Ivory Coast and Ghana where they have been shaking up the European entertainment scene with a sound that is reminiscent of The Police, Fela, and Paul Simon’s Graceland. The singing/songwriting duo have tapped into the heart of global culture by writing and performing eclectic songs influenced by pop, reggae, West African dance, hip hop, rock and soul stylings that joyfully speak of life, love and identity.

Known originally as as Envy to their European fans, the band debuted at the 2010 Emengeza Festival where they won first place for new, emerging artists. Since then, the pair have topped various charts thanks to their extraordinary storytelling, electrifying performances and riveting videos. Their hit single “Am I Wrong” has a 20x-platinum combined certifcation in Scandanavia where it has won an NRJ Award for “Song of the Year” and a Spelleman Award (Norwegian equivalent to a Grammy) nomination for “Hit of the Year.” “Am I Wrong” is platinum in the U.S., Canada, and Germany, and is the first-ever song to chart in the UK on streaming alone where it has been added to Radio 1 and Radio 2 playlists in the last week.
