Red Carpet Event to Feature the Hottest Emerging Acts At Webster Hall

NEW YORK – June 2, 2014 – New Music Seminar (NMS) (June 8-10, NYC) proudly announces the lineup for its annual opening night party, taking place at Webster Hall on

Sunday, June 8. The event is FREE for all NMS badge holders, and tickets are available for purchase by the general public for a cover of $10.

Credited with helping to propel the careers of artists such as Madonna and Nirvana, NMS remains true to its goal in breaking new music, with a lineup of house rocking performances by the next breakthrough artists, including headliners and NY-based dance duo ASTR, who are also scheduled to perform a sold-out show with The Knocks at Bowery Ballroom on June 11; alternative vocalist Meg Myers, fresh from her same-day performance at the famed Governors Ball Music Festival; alt-rock outfit Born Cages; electro-pop artist Cardiknox; and Roc Nation singer-songwriter Mayaeni, who will be featured in Pepsi’s emerging artist campaign this July, with surprise acts to be announced.

This is the first year that NMS, New York’s quintessential music business conference, will kick off its programming a day early, featuring a special movement led by industry titan

Desmond Child, “The Art and Business of Songwriting.” Attendees will watch this music legend weave through music pieces and personal stories from an incredible career, while discussing the art and business facets of the songwriting process. A Q&A with the audience will be conducted as well. The program will be held at The New Yorker Hotel, where delegates can pick up their badges for the 3-day conference.

The opening night party will commence following the movement, at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Press interested in covering NMS or the opening night party should contact sarah@workmangrp.com.
