Huffington Post entertainment contributor Mike Ragogna speaks with experimental performance artist/multi-instrumentalist Laurie Anderson, who sings in a variety of experimental and art house music styles. Anderson did her first performance-art piece—a symphony played on automobile horns—in 1969. She graduated magna cum laude and Phi Betta Kappa from Barnard College in art history. In 1972, she received an MFA in sculpture from Columbia University. She became widely known outside the art world in 1981 when her single "O Superman" reached number two on the UK. She starred in and directed the 1986 concert film Home of the Brave. The instrumental song "Flow" off her latest release Homeland is nominated for a Grammy.
