Michelle Chamuel’s Face The Fire Out October 7th
MICHELLE CHAMUEL ANNOUNCES DEBUT LP
‘FACE THE FIRE’ COMING FEBRUARY 2015!
TITLE TRACK & FIRST SINGLE SET TO HIT OCTOBER 7th, 2014 VIA
THE END RECORDS / ADA
Michelle Chamuel, the bespectacled songstress who won American’s hearts in season 4 of The Voice, is proud to announce the upcoming release of her debut LP, Face The Fire, set to hit via The End Records / ADA this coming Feb, 2015. Michelle’s incredible first single, the album’s title track, will impact October 7th.
Face The Fire came together at a breakneck pace. For three weeks this past winter, Chamuel and her collaborators, Tyler Duncan and Theo Katzman – college pals and My Dear Disco band members – holed up in Chamuel’s home, building the album from musical nuggets each had brought to the sessions. The trio alchemizes several genres – spanning from 80s pop (“Rock It”) and melodic house (“Weight of the World”), to VHS-infused reggae (“Money”).
The title track on the album and first single is no exception – showcasing Chamuel’s vision and her collaborators’ ingenuity. “Face the Fire” serves as a pulsing mission statement, a vamping call to action that Chamuel relates to her own experience in harnessing musical passion. This track, which like the rest of the album was recorded and produced in Chamuel and Duncan’s home studios, is a tapestry of interlocking percussion, surf-punk bass tones, and a rousing call and answer between Chamuel and her choir. When describing the new track, Chamuel says, ‘”Face the Fire” is about harnessing passion in life, following the fiery drive that pulls at us to accomplish, while also recognizing the danger of being completely consumed by it.”
Making music since the wee age of four, Michelle’s passion has taken her through different projects and genres, from the eclectic rock band she fronted for 5 years, Ella Riot, to her electronic production alter-ego, The Reverb Junkie, and of course, the passionate pop music she makes as Michelle Chamuel.
While on The Voice, Michelle’s songs were consistently in the top 20 on the iTunes single charts and her fan base and their love for her work has only grown stronger since the show’s season finale last June. When The Voice wrapped, Michelle immediately went to work finishing her first full-length album as The Reverb Junkie. “All I Want” was released in September and climbed the charts finding itself in the #1 spot on the iTunes EDM charts as well as #6 on the Billboard EDM Charts between Zedd and Calvin Harris. Michelle, under her own name, also released the acclaimed single “Go Down Singing” last winter which climbed the charts landing at #12 on the iTunes Pop Charts and #20 on the Top 200.
