Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Adds O.A.R., Al Kooper & Randy Houser
O.A.R., RANDY HOUSER AND AL KOOPER ADDED TO LYNYRD SKYNYRD TRIBUTE CONCERT
ON NOVEMBER 12TH IN ATLANTA
“One More For The Fans! – Celebrating The Songs & Music of Lynyrd Skynyrd” Will Feature A World-Class Group Of Music Stars Including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Trace Adkins, Alabama, Gregg Allman, Charlie Daniels, Peter Frampton, Warren Haynes, John Hiatt, Jason Isbell, Jamey Johnson, Aaron Lewis, moe., Gov’t Mule, Robert Randolph, Blackberry Smoke, Cheap Trick and Donnie Van Zant
On Wednesday, November 12th, 2014, an extraordinary collection of music artists will come together for “One More For The Fans! – Celebrating The Songs & Music of Lynyrd Skynyrd,” a special concert event taping honoring one of the most influential bands of our time. Legendary musician and producer Al Kooper, MTV Award-winning rock band O.A.R. and multiple CMA and ACM nominee Randy Houser have been added to the concert, which will take place at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. Al Kooper, known for his keyboard work on Bob Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone,” discovered Lynyrd Skynyrd and produced and performed on their multi-platinum hits: “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Free Bird” and “Saturday Night Special.” The previously announced lineup includes music artists: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Trace Adkins, Alabama, Gregg Allman, Charlie Daniels, Peter Frampton, Warren Haynes, John Hiatt, Jason Isbell, Jamey Johnson, Aaron Lewis, moe., Gov’t Mule, Robert Randolph, Blackberry Smoke, Cheap Trick and Donnie Van Zant.
An all-star house band featuring legendary guitarist Steve Lukather (Toto) will be led by GRAMMY Award-winner Don Was who will serve as the music director. Keith Wortman is the creator and executive producer. Ken Levitan and Ross Schilling are executive producers. The live concert event, “One More For The Fans! – Celebrating The Songs & Music of Lynyrd Skynyrd,” will be filmed and recorded for multi-platform distribution.
“We are thrilled to add these incredible musicians to this special show,” commented Keith Wortman. “November 12th in Atlanta is going to be epic.”
As part of the campaign to save the Fox Theatre from demolition, Lynyrd Skynyrd recorded their 1976 live album, One More From The Road, at the landmark theatre. The title “One More For The Fans! – Celebrating The Songs & Music of Lynyrd Skynyrd,” was inspired by that legendary album’s title.
