UK soul/rock singer Liam Bailey sings with a raw expressiveness that has drawn comparisons to Jimi Hendrix, Jack White, Queens of the Stone Age and Cody ChesnuTT. Co-written and produced by Bailey, and Executive Produced by Flying Buddha label head and Executive VP of A&R Salaam Remi (Kendrick Lamar, French Montana, Nelly Furtado), his debut album Definitely Now is out now via Flying Buddha/Sony Masterworks.

Bailey marked his US TV debut on CBS Saturday: This Morning last weekend (8/23) showcasing his style, woven together by raw guitar that perfectly frames his lyrical and vocal passions. Check out his live TV performance of “On My Mind” and “Summer Rain”. NPR’s Morning Edition + “Heavy Rotation” is featuring album track “Stun Me” which is available as a free download for a limited time. The “On My Mind” video is currently featured on mtvU ‘The Freshmen’ and in the running for on-air programming.

The Nottingham, England native got his initial introduction to the music business via his friend, producer Salaam Remi. Remi introduced Bailey to the late Amy Winehouse, who was so impressed with his music that she signed Bailey to her Lioness Records imprint and recorded 2 EP’s with him. Definitely NOW was recorded in New York, Miami and London.

“a psychedelic stomper that sounds something like Hendrix covering a White Stripes track.”
– Entertainment Weekly

“Alone among Britain’s long line of neo-soul stars, Bailey burnishes his sound with the rawness of rock. Instead of the usual Motown/Stax/pop references, his soul mixes in influences from Hendrix to Pink Floyd.” – The Daily News, Jim Farber

“Definitely Now runs through vintage soul, rock, blues and R&B, with a few psychedelic moments thrown in along the way. The centerpiece of the album… is his voice. His longing melds into pure heartbreak in the chilling “Stun Me,” wherein the sweeps in his voice take me to a grittier Roy Orbison.” – NPR

“the perfect blend of gritty guitar and psychedelic vocals” – NYLON Guys

“It’s intimate, moody, authentic, and simply excellent.“ – Interview Magazine

“Definitely NOW is sweet Daptone soul infused with blues moods… “ – Wondering Sound

“plays like Queens Of The Stone Age and a young Cody ChesnuTT mashed into one ruckus treatment, drenched in hard-blues and reverb… “ – OkayPlayer

“Liam Bailey’s smoky rasp of a voice would enhance any setting.” – Mother Jones

“fusion of rock, soul and R&B “ – WNYC Soundcheck
