Lia Ices Album Out, To Tour With Phantogram

LIA ICES NEWEST ALBUM ICES OUT TODAY VIA JAGJAGUWAR

PLAYING NYC’S MERCURY LOUNGE TOMORROW, SEPTEMBER 17, LOS ANGELES ON SEPTEMBER 23

FALL TOUR – HEADLINING AND SUPPORT FOR PHANTOGRAM – KICK OFF NEXT WEEK

Lia Ices is excited to announce that her newest album Ices is released today! NPR said of it: “Ices finds Lia Ices in a more experimental mode, as she makes her rhythms first and builds her songs in light layers atop the beats… (on Ices) she also reached out to experimental hip-hop producer Clams Casino, who helps give songs like “Love Ices Over” a curiously strong boom-tick… both Ices and Casino hearken back to a time in the early ’90s when winsome pop intermingled with the head- nodding beats of trip-hop. Traces of St. Etienne and Everything But the Girl surface here, but Lia Ices is looking up, not back.” Elle Magazine states, “Lia Ices is ready to thaw the masses with her new, textured sound.”

Ices was co-produced by Benny Sagittarius (the newly formed production team of Lia and her brother Eliot) and Clams Casino.

Lia is kicking off her fall tour with a headlining show tomorrow night at NYC’s Mercury Lounge (Wednesday, September 17). There are still guest list spots available so please let us know if you’d like to go! The tour continues next Tuesday September 23 when she plays The Echo in Los Angeles, Additional headlining dates follow as well as a tour supporting Phantogram. All dates listed below.

Earlier this Fall Lia released her captivating and gorgeous video for the single “Higher” which Stereogum has called an “experimental pop number with lots of empty space but plenty going on…this (is a) weird, wonderful song” and Consequence of Sound labeled “an ethereal earworm” and continued “the pop number’s worth a spot on your ‘Songs of Summer’ playlist.” The video premiered via Paper who described it saying “(‘Higher’) features kaleidoscopic visions of the artist and her brother as they explore Jamaica.”
