Laura Marling To Perform at 2015 ACL Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Additional Summer Tour Dates
Laura Marling has joined the list of performers for the 2015 Austin City Limits (ACL) Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Thursday, June 18th. Marling was handpicked by the family of Texas singer/songwriter Townes Van Zandt and the producers of ACL Live to perform her version of the 2015 inductee’s “Colorado Girl.” Also performing that evening will be Lyle Lovett, Gillian Welch, Vince Gill, Jason Isbell, Patty Loveless, Los Lobos frontman David Hidalgo, Los Texmaniacs and Townes’ son JT Van Zandt. The celebration, hosted by GRAMMY award winning country artist Dwight Yoakam, honors the second class of inductees with one-of-a-kind music performances and tributes. The four other trailblazing artists who will be inducted along with Van Zandt on the special night are Loretta Lynn, Guy Clark, Flaco Jiménez, and Asleep at the Wheel.
The event, which is open to the public, will take place at ACL’s studio home, Austin’s ACL Live at the Moody Theater. A limited number of tickets are available at acltv.com/hall-of-fame. Musical highlights and inductions from the ceremony will be broadcast in a special episode as part of ACL’s Season 41 which premieres in the fall on PBS.
Laura added several live dates surrounding her ACL performance. The new dates include stops in Austin, Dallas and New Orleans. All tour dates below.
Laura released her fifth album, Short Movie in March. Recording since the age of 17, Marling’s flawless output has established her as one of the most respected artists of her generation. Three of her albums have been nominated for the esteemed Mercury Music Prize and she is a two-time BRIT Award nominee, winning the UK’s GRAMMY-equivalent for “Best British Female Artist” in 2011. That same year she beat out an array of international talent to the title of “Best Solo Artist” at the NME Awards.
