Mike Ragogna: Larry, what advice do you have for new artists?

Larry Graham: Well, there is available to a lot of musicians now avenues that we didn’t have when I was growing up learning music and starting to record. You have the internet and so many avenues to present your music to people. So take advantage of that. Learn what those are. We didn’t have that. Not all of it is good. Some of it will rip you off, but some of it is good. Do your homework and learn how to be able to present your music to people now. The other thing is to really practice your craft. We went into a little area where people weren’t really playing the drums, weren’t really playing the bass, playing the guitar, playing the keyboards and so forth, but now, people are really interested in hearing real music by real musicians. If you learn how to play your instruments, then you will be the creators of the new music to come in the future, so take advantage of that.
