The Kickback Sets Up Fall Tour

The Kickback is heading out on the road in October for a tour that will take them to both coasts, and a stop at CMJ in NYC and ending with a show Dec 6 at the famed Metro in their hometown of Chicago. This run follows a summer of festival plays at Warmfest, Mile of Music, NXNE, AudtioTree and more.

While preparing for the release of their debut full-length, produced by Spoon drummer and engineer Jim Eno, the Chicago quartet released the hypnotic death denial, “When I Die” and Death + Taxes debuted their new video for “Sting’s Teacher Years” with singer Billy Yost acting as his own lyric-pad. The Kickback has received praise from Rolling Stone, Chicago Sun-Times, Paste, Consequence of Sound, You Ain’t No Picasso and more and may be the only band in the country to have their own Podcast.

DISASTOUR w/ The Kickback was created as a means for the group to kill some time during their 2010 tour and is nearing its 100th episode. Segments have included: “Most depressing moment of the day”, “How did the show go?”, “The Yost brothers read each other’s mind” and “If Michael Keaton were here right now”, along with interviews of house hosts and the occasional live performance.
