Keith Stanfield Drops EP With Moors

SHORT TERM 12’S KEITH STANFIELD RELEASES DEBUT EP WITH MOORS

OUT NOW ON HAVEN SOUNDS

ON TOUR NATIONWIDE THIS FALL WITH
JAMES VINCENT MCMORROW

“…we have a feeling MOORS is here for the long run.”—Interview

“…spaced-out, slow-motion hip-hop…which finds a rich groove somewhere in between
Tricky-style trip-hop and Common-style bohemian rap”—Entertainment Weekly

“A winningly moody mix of glistening aural gloom, pensive paranoiac lyricism,
and cinematic isolation”—SPIN

The debut EP from MOORS, the rising duo of Keith Stanfield—star of Short Term 12 and the forthcoming projects Straight Outta Compton and Selma—and producer HH is out now on Haven Sounds, an emerging record label based in Los Angeles and Toronto. The self-titled EP, which premiered exclusively at Interview, features four original tracks alongside a remix of “Asphyxiated” from The Postal Service’s Dntel and “Gas” remixed by Daedelus. Interview praises, “the moodily and beautifully haunting ‘Asphyxiated’ and ‘Smoke’ juxtaposed with the thumping, club-ready ‘Gas’ and ‘Fire’ (we dare you not to clap and groove along).”

Stanfield united his acting and rapping talents in his on-screen debut in the 2013 film Short Term 12, which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his role of Marcus. His upcoming roles include portraying the young Snoop Dogg in Straight Outta Compton and civil rights activist Jimmie Lee Jackson in the Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic Selma. In between films, Stanfield and HH have been working on the MOORS EP as well as remixing songs for artists such as James Vincent McMorrow, Baths and Slow Magic.

Moors will tour nationwide this fall, playing dates in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and more. After Moors remixed James Vincent McMorrow’s track “Cavalier,” he personally invited them to join him on an eight-date run this November. McMorrow and Moors have also collaborated on a brand new track titled “New Romancers,” set to appear on the deluxe version of McMorrows’s Post Tropical, out November 11 via Vagrant and Dine Alone Records.
