KAWEHI ANNOUNCES SUMMER TOUR IN SUPPORT OF UPCOMING EP

Robot Heart EP To Hit Stores in July
The One-Woman Band Has Received Worldwide Attention for Her
Cover of Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box”

“Here’s the best thing on the Internet this week: Kawehi, a one-woman band based in Kansas, covering Nirvana’s ‘Heart Shaped Box’ with a keyboard, drum machine and a glass of wine.”
– Huffington Post
“The multi-instrumentalist, all by her lonesome, covers Nirvana’s ‘Heart Shaped Box’ brilliantly.”
– Elle
“We loved it so much we asked her to do another cover especially for us, and she enthusiastically agreed,
recording this ethereal version of Radiohead’s symphonic hit ‘Fake Plastic Trees.’ Once again, Kawehi takes the bones of the tune and bends them to her own interpretation. Which, once again, is damn near perfect.”
– Esquire

New York, NY (May 9, 2014) – One-woman band Kawehi has made quite the impression on the internet the last few months with her cover of Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box.” The singer’s video has been picked up worldwide since becoming a “Staff Pick” on Vimeo. Coverage of the song began popping up everywhere – People Magazine, Spin, Huffington Post, Elle, Esquire and more. The folks at Esquire loved the video so much, they asked her to do an exclusive recording of another cover for their site. The Lawrence, KS based singer, who has a handful of EP releases under her belt, is gearing up to release some new music this summer. Her new EP, Robot Heart, is nearly complete and will be released in July. Kawehi launched a Kickstarter campaign for the new EP and not only hit her goal, but she surpassed it, reaching nearly 10x her original goal.
