Por Vida, the new project from singer and producer Kali Uchis, is now streaming via Pitchfork, listen here. The project will be available tomorrow, February 4, exclusively via kaliuchis.com. The latest track from the release, “Lottery” recently premiered on Vogue.com, watch it here.
Uchis wrote each of the project’s nine tracks and collaborated on production on the new release with Tyler, The Creator, Kaytranada, BADBADNOTGOOD and more. Watch the trailer for Por Vida here and watch the video for the release’s lead track “Know What I Want” here.
21-year-old Uchis was born and raised in Colombia and is now based in Alexandria, VA and Los Angeles. After writing, producing, recording and releasing her 2013 mixtape Drunken Babble in 48 hours, Uchis caught the attention of the likes of Snoop Dogg and Tyler, The Creator. In the months since, Uchis’ connections and collaborations have resulted in Por Vida and the evolution of her signature sound, something she calls “lowrider soul.”
