The New York Times praises Tyranny, for its “Screaming hardcore rock, pulsing electronics, twisted cabaret, soundtrack exotica and other possibilities”, while Rolling Stone calls the album “Wonderfully bizarre…vocals lurch from robosoul falsetto to death-metal howl; the vibe is dark and apoplectic…Not pretty, but more compelling for it.”
Tyranny is available now via Cult Records for $3.87 as a digital album download, as well as multiple physical configurations including double gatefold vinyl, CD, and cassette. Most notably, Tyranny is also available as a limited edition lighter sleeve containing the 12-track album as high quality MP3s on a built in USB flash drive. The first of its kind, the lighter sleeve features custom Julian Casablancas+The Voidz artwork and is available in white, black and yellow.
