The John Butler Trio is set to kick off its U.S. fall tour on October 30th at the House of Blues in Houston, TX. The 18-city tour will include stops in Austin, New Orleans, Nashville, Atlanta and Baltimore. Tickets are available via a fan pre-sale with the general on-sale beginning Friday, August 8th. The band will wrap up its U.S. summer tour this weekend at the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco. Throughout the past few months, the John Butler Trio has displayed its brilliant musicianship with sold out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheater, New York’s Central Park Summerstage, Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA, Boston, Philadelphia (to name a few), and capacity crowds at this year’s Lollapalozza, Bonnaroo and Wakarusa.
Earlier this week, the Wall Street Journal premiered the band’s new video “How You Sleep At Night,” one of the songs from its latest album Flesh & Blood which addresses the issue of bullying. Butler was inspired to write the song after a confrontation with an unnamed politician in an airport lounge. He states, “I distilled the song and the video down to the idea of how some of us can live with ourselves even though we know we are harming others. Exploring what helps us justify these things. I especially love the drama that plays out in the video and the “flip” that takes place.”
