John Statz’s Tulsa Drops

JOHN STATZ’S NEW ALBUM TULSA DEBUTS AT THE BLUEGRASS SITUATION

AHEAD OF RELEASE NEXT WEEK

TOUR STARTS TOMORROW BEFORE HEADING TO EUROPE IN MAY & JUNE

John Statz recorded his new album with an all-star band in the middle of a Vermont ice storm and will release Tulsa next week on March 10. At The Bluegrass Situation, you can stream the album in full all week ahead of its release. Statz begins a month of U.S. dates tomorrow before he heads to Europe for May and June.

Tulsa is a beautiful blend of soft Americana and smooth folk and even includes a cover of Radiohead’s “Motion Picture Soundtrack”, which Cover Me calls, “A hushed country lament.”

John Statz has recently been featured by American Songwriter, RoughEdge and more. Guitar World’s Acoustic Nation says, “Statz uses the spaces in between the lyrics to cast his haunting spell of longing and lost ways.” PopDose calls the album, “A modern travelogue; a diary of different moments and places, captured in words and lyrics… HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.”

After years of DIY touring everywhere from Eastern Europe to Mexico, the Wisconsinite who now resides in Colorado fell in with fellow Midwesterner Jeffrey Foucault, a critically acclaimed songwriter and veteran of the Americana circuit, who ended up producing the record.

Tulsa is available for pre-order at iTunes along with physical copies at bandcamp.
