Last Call For Session I Entries For The 2014 John Lennon Songwriting Contest
Over $300,000 in Cash and Prizes Including Exclusive Package from Partner, SESAC
New York, June 2, 2014– The John Lennon Songwriting Contest (JLSC), the premier international songwriting competition open to both amateur and professional songwriters in twelve categories, is accepting submissions for 2014 Session I until June 15. SESAC, the nation’s most progressive performing rights organization,is an official sponsor and partner for both the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and Educational Bus Tour.
Talented songwriters have only a few more weeks for a chance to take home an array of prizes totaling over $300,000, the largest in the history of the competition. In addition to studio equipment, instruments, and cash, The Lennon Award winner will also receive a premier package from SESAC, including:
– Exclusive opportunity to join SESAC as an affiliate writer
– Trip to Los Angeles to participate in the SESAC Songwriters Bootcamp including airfare and hotel accommodations

The prestigious Lennon Awards determine the top song in each category — Rock, Country, Jazz, Pop, World, Rhythm & Blues, Hip Hop, Gospel/Inspirational, Latin, Electronic, Folk, and Children’s– as voted on by JLSC’s Executive Judging Committee. The committee is comprised of a combination of contemporary artists, legendary music icons and music business leaders, including Prince Royce, George Clinton, Bob Weir, Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, SESAC affiliates Bryan-Michael Cox and Angela Hunte, and SESAC SR.
