Javier Colon Becomes A Concord Artist

New Album Due Out Spring 2015

Concord Music Group announces today the addition of singer, songwriter Javier Colon to their stellar list of artists. Most widely known as the inaugural winner of The Voice, Colon is currently developing his debut album for the label due out in March of 2015.

Known for his incomparable vocal and songwriting ability and citing influences ranging from Donny Hathaway to James Taylor, Colon is now set to embark on a new season of his career. “I am so happy to have a new home at Concord. They truly understand who I am as an artist and I’m looking forward to making the album I want to make. To be on a roster with the likes of James Taylor and Paul McCartney is an absolute honor and I’m excited to start this journey and get new music out to my fans.” Recently coming off tour with Maroon 5, he has performed with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, Colbie Caillat, Michael McDonald, India Arie, Adam Levine, Stevie Nicks, Anthony Hamilton and Joss Stone.

Originally from Stratford, Connecticut, this soulful singer/songwriter began writing in the 6th grade and further studied music education from The Hartt School of Music. During his college years he began to establish his music career, performing with the soul/funk band EmcQ and later touring with The Derek Trucks Band in the early millennium. He moved on to a solo career and signed with Capitol Records, releasing his self-titled debut album Javier in 2003 and Left of Center in 2006. Colon eventually left Capitol and moved on to his own label releasing an acoustic EP titled “The Truth” on Javier Colon Music in 2010. The following year Colon became the first winner of NBC’s hit reality talent show The Voice, winning a contract with Universal Republic and releasing his third full length studio album Come Through for You in November of 2011. The album charted in the Billboard Top 200 and landed in the Top 20 on the R&B/Hip Hop chart.
