Jann is heard as the voice of Tim in the movie GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY (Focus World/ Tribeca Film). Recently ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT Online interviewed Jann about the film.
The LA-ist wrote that Jann “can be accurately described as the man chosen to carry on the legacy of great musicians like Tim Buckley and Paul McCartney.” TIME Magazine Columnist Joel Stein pranked Jann in his June 2013 column. WFUV radio stalwart Vin Scelsa devoted a few of his famous monologues on Jann on his show. Genya Ravan spinned “Make It Better” on her Little Steven’s Underground Garage show, GOLDIE’S GARAGE. Jann’s new music video MAKE IT BETTER was directed by Yael Shulman (daughter of Gentle Giant’s Derek Shulman) and the video is now up on youtube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=stEjfSzO9CQ Watch the video to see local scenes in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn!
RELIX’s Nancy Dunham writes, “Combine his songwriting and singing chops with his artful experimentation—songs include flavors of reggae, punk, and more—and you understand why Klose moves ever closer to pop-rock eminence.”
MOSAIC follows the indie success of REVERIE (2008) and SACRIFICE EP (2010) and the music video for DOING TIME. Produced by Grammy winner James Frazee (Esperanza Spalding, My Morning Jacket) and David Bendeth (Paramore, Bruce Hornsby, Elvis Presley). Double GRAMMY-winner Warren Russell-Smith mastered MOSAIC.
Jann has shared the stage with/and or opened for artists from all eras of music history including Rusted Root, Pat Benatar, Vonda Shepard, THE VOICE’s Rebecca Loebe, Gary (Jeff Buckley, Captain Beefheart) Lucas, Suzanne Vega, Annie Haslam and Renaissance, Brett Dennen, Bret Michaels, and the late Pete Seeger and Les Paul.
Born in Germany, raised in Kenya, South Africa, and Hamburg, Jann came to the States as an exchange student in Cleveland. He performed in touring productions of Broadway shows (JEKYLL & HYDE, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR) and portrayed The Pinball Wizard in THE WHO’S TOMMY before he started his band. He now lives in the Bronx when he’s not touring around the world.
Jann’s music is heard on the GRAMMY-nominated HEALTHY FOOD FOR THOUGHT, on MTV CRIBS, the movie “Dead Broke” (Warner Bros.) featuring Paul Sorvino. He maintains a steady touring schedule of about 75-100 shows a year in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
